Before you visit your pediatric endocrinologist, you can prepare by bringing along
useful information. Here are some of the things to put together in advance.
- Gather any data about your child's height over time. This information can be found
in medical records, but other records of your child's height will also be of interest.
- Collect data about the heights of all members of your child's immediate family.
Grandparents' heights, and the heights of aunts and uncles, may also be of interest.
If you have growth charts for siblings or parents, bring them along to show the
specialist.
- Bring in any records about your child before he or she was born, as well as measurements
of birth weight and height.
- Contact all medical doctors who have seen your child to request copies of their
records to bring with you, or have copies of those records sent to your pediatric
endocrinologist's office.
